An instant classic in Japan upon release in 1990, it’s the story of how, in the future, as a way of keeping their youth in line, the Japanese government yearly captures a random class of ninth-grade students, drops them on an island, and it’s survival of the fittest…helps if you know how to use a cross-bow or semi-automatic rifle.
