Eaterwire: A16 & RN74 Do April Fool’s, Burritt Tavern Open April 9

SWITCHEROOS — On April Fool’s Day, A16 (2355 Chestnut Street) and RN74 (301 Mission Street) will swap chefs and wine directors. Dine at either of the restaurants and enjoy a special pop-up menu that features signature dishes and wine pairings from the other eatery. At A16, you’ll find a modern French meal paired with Rajat Parr‘s picks; likewise, at RN74, you can select from an assortment of Southern Italian dishes and Shelley Lindgren‘s wines. [Eaterwire]
BUCKSWIRE —; The Embarcadero’s finally got its own Starbucks. Today the coffee chain opened up shop on Pier One, dangerously close to the Ferry Building. [ISSF]
EMPIRE BUILDING — Charlie Palmer‘s much anticipated restaurant at the Crescent Hotel, the Burritt Tavern (417 Stockton Street), is expected to open its doors on April 9th. He’s also on the search for a “couple more hotels” to increase his restaurant presence in SF. [Grub Street]
SOMA — Tres‘ (130 Townsend Street) next food and tequila pairing event will take place this Thursday night, from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. Called Aficionado, this month’s tasting will feature “the Bentley of tequilas,” Tequila Corrido, along with food from Chac Mool and La Cocina. [Live Soma]
WALNUT CREEK — The Town Hall trio’s East Bay off shoot, Corners Tavern (1342 Broadway Plaza), is set to open this Wednesday. The restaurant is housed in the former Bing Crosby‘s space and the menu features an assortment of modern pub fare; think duck fat fries, housemade charcuterie, and fried flounder. [ISSF]

DELIVERY PIZZA WARS - Wherein 7×7′s Sara Deseran orders seven pizzas for delivery to the office, then asks chefs from Flour + Water, A16 and Pizzeria Delfina to help her judge them. Everyone eats plain cheese slices from North Beach Pizza, Za, Marcello’s, Patxi’s, Escape from New York, Nizario’s and Cybelle and here are the results. [7x7]
